My child turned 3 in November and has no desire to use the potty. I have tried pull ups and even cotton underware. She still pees and don't care if it is running down her legs! We even let her go with me to the store and pick out what underware she wanted! Any suggestions?

FIrst of all some kids take longer than others, My oldest didn't train until 4 and a half, my middle one was also 4 and a half, and my youngest just got day trained at 3 and a half.
My experience is that they will train when they are ready and if you try to hard to make them, it just takes that much longer. It also takes consistency. My youngest took three weeks of loads upon loads of wet pants before she finally got the hang of it. I tried pull ups, but they are just diapers and way too expensive. I put her in regular underpants and packed three or four changes of clothes whenever we went somewhere. I also took her to the potty every store I went into when we shopped, we went potty when we got there and when we were getting ready to leave.
When we started with her, every time we saw a diaper changing station I would say, "aren't you glad you don't wear baby diapers?" Now she says it.
Night training is the hardest, my two boys are chronic bed wetters at 6 and 7, but I was until I was 9 so the doctor thinks they will grow out of it. We haven't even tried night training with my daughter yet, but I don't think it will be as hard with her. She wakes up in the middle of the night anyway.
Good luck.

We are going through that on the second. My son nonetheless wears pull united states of americato mattress and I suppose like that's simply quality. He will likely be four in November. I am no longer involved approximately it on the second. He is only in the near past potty informed like simply over a month now. Some mornings he wakes up dry and others he's rainy. I have not dont something another way. He nonetheless is going to the potty earlier than mattress or even will get milk correct earlier than mattress. I'll fear in a while, whilst he's nonetheless dressed in pull united states of americato mattress.

I have two boys ages 1 1/2 and 3 1/2 and my older boy has NO desire to use the potty... My boys both LOVE ELMO and he has a Potty Time DVD... We bought it and the boys both love it... However, if I let them watch it alone.. When I come back into the room they will both be naked and pee on the carpet... *very odd* ! So, for Christmas I'm getting them a Potty time Elmo.. It's darling.. It's a baby Elmo dressed in big boy underwear and he has a sippy cup/potty chair.. He'll ask for a drink and then ask to use the potty.. *he doesn't really pee... Sometimes he will go, and other times it's a "false alarm".. I also got the book or the kids... I"m hoping this strategy helps AND as a bonus I can train them both this winter... !

If you can find the toy in stores in retails for about $40.. HOWEVER I got the book/toy on Amazon.com for just over $25 + free shipping... I'm also getting them ELMO underwear... So, wish me luck....

Try the "special treat" tell you that if she uses the potty she can pick a special thing she'd like to do, whether if be going to the shops to buy and little toy, or iceblock, or a lollypop, but only allow her 1 x item don't go overboard, and show her the nice little outfits she can wear when she doesn't have to rely on nappies or pull-ups, anything is worth a go, even if its for your own peace of mind.

at least you're trying.
musical potty seats can also set her back. the music may scare her, so be careful if you go down that path.

(my father-in-law's mother sent him to Kindergarten still in diapers... I asked her what she thought she was doing, and she said With A Smile On Her Face... [I joke you not] "I knew he wouldn't get married in then, so I didn't see the harm in it.")

don't give up, my daughter in 2 1/2 and only wants to flush the toilet when she's in the bathroom.

good luck

I bought my daughter a singing potty. The minute she found out if sings and cheers when she uses it, she was hooked. She enjoyed potty training and is now fully trained at 21 months.
