Heaven in some ways has got bad press, especially with the common misunderstanding of Heaven is that in Heaven we are going to be singing praises forever and ever, playing harps and all that.
That leaves out a lot of the simple pleasures we take so much joy in. For instance, like the joy of a baby, or the pleasure of drying our clothes in the warm sunlight, or the satisfaction of a job well done, or just simply enjoying a good book or a newspaper in the morning. Paul said now we see "through a glass darkly," a poor reflection in a dim mirror. But some day this dark glass will be removed and we will be able to see clearly and be able to enjoy the real meaning of being a human being created in the image of God. The point is when the dark glass is removed, the view of Heaven is not going to change. It is going to become clearer. When that happens, I believe the things that give us pleasure in this world will make much more sense and give a whole lot more pleasure.

What you describe is not my vision of what heaven is. Certainly there will be "singing" and "praising" going on, but I also think that there will be a lot to keep one occupied as well. There are many souls in the next life that had not a chance to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ due to their earthly circumstances, ie born during the dark ages, born to remote places on the earth, etc. A just God would not damn them due to their uncontrollable circumstances in life. Those people too, need to hear the gospel and get a chance to accept it. That is where we come in. They need to have the Gospel preached to them, there in heaven. That takes work and time. So one thing we could be doing is missionary work.
Another additional item that I could mention, that I hesitate to do so as it is so controversial.....OK here goes. Mormon doctrine teaches that the righteous can be leaders over their own worlds some day. To me, that spells a lot to do right there. So, we would have to put down the harps and go build a society.

Doesn't Heaven just being an eternal mass at the expense of doing anything else seem as miserable as Hell?
Answer: No
Who in their right mind would wanna just keep bowing down, praising, and worshipping God 24/7 all the time without rest and never get to continue doing all the things they enjoyed doing on Earth, whatever those personal interests and hobbies maybe?
Answer:
I'm not thrilled about that story of Don Piper seeing people singing and praising God non-stop in Heaven.
Answer:
I would rather be doing the things I enjoy doing.
Answer:Proverbs 1:30-32 (King James Version)
30They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
31Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
32For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

That is not what The Bible says about Heaven... but the study would take a long time to go through... I am of The True Christian Faith and I can tell you that there willb e plenty to do in Heaven. It will not be one long continuous Praise session. Though those of us who will make it there will be eternaly praising God as we go about the business he has for us to do there... I am not a fan of Don Piper... but I think you did not read fully what he had to say about Heaven.

Well, you don't even know what Heaven looks like. What people say or write about is just their own imagination and guess. Maybe we don't bow down and praise God 24/7. Maybe we go surfing or fly and God joins in with us. You'll actually never know until you die.

Heaven is spiritual, Earth is natural. While the spirit is worshipping God, the mind and body are free to do anything inside the will and creative wonder of God. Don't think of worshipping God as limiting the mind and body. The truth is God is the only limitless being to worship and therefore sets our minds and bodies free.

Heaven is a state of mind as well as environment but mostly the former. Heaven is living in an aroused euphoric state of spiritually intoxicating bliss. Similar to the state described by junkies when high. Boredom is something we all fear. If we were bored or fearful then that wouldnt be a heavenly state of being, now would it. As we grow and age our idea of heaven changes and grows with us, at 7 it is fre spending in a sweet and toy shop, and when we are mature it is absolute control over our destiny and the mastery over own will, not only to empower us, but to free us from that fear of boredom, loss of face, friends, poverty and those we think are different from us. ..Heaven....Unlimited spending in the top shops during teens, freedom from want and desire that I cannot readily have without feeling compromised or bereft in any way now. Being able to create my own happiness, control my moods, and be as blissful, melancholic or happy as I want to be....

Everything you enjoy doing on earth is merely a shadow, a glimmer of the One who is the source of all pleasure and all good things.
Perhaps it is your concept of heaven, God, and worship that is flawwed?

At least the torture would give me something to do all day. I'd prefer not to worship most Gods because they are pretty evil and hateful, whether real or not.
