Fabric paint

it is called fabric paint - you get it at local hobby or craft store, or you can order on line from Hobby Lobby or Michaels, or Dick Blick.

Pay attention to the directions about washing a new garment first...and use cardboard under the fabric so the paint does not soak thru onto the back of the piece, or the countertop...it also helps to keep the fabric flat, especially if you pin it down to the cardboard with a few straight pins or tacks.
it may dry slowly, so plan ahead.

Acrylic fabric paint, available at most art supply and craft stores.

For airbrushing, thin the paint down, with water, to the consistancy of thick cream. Be sure to filter out solids from the ink, as these peices will never "dissolve" back into the ink and will clog up the brush's nozzle. I used to use scraps of silk screen silk to filter the inks.

There are specially designed paints labled as fabric paint, you can get it as most hobby/art stores, even some walmarts carry it. It won't bleed or ruin the fabric.
