Join the club. If you are thinking of researching your Irish ancestors you have a long haul. You will need plenty of patience, I have been at it for 5 years, still, it's interesting !

Congratulations, you are in good company with 10.8% of the American Population and 87% of the population of Ireland. If you can research back to 1840, I'll bet you can even find the records of the person in your tree who came here from Ireland. It's fun finding those nuggets...and even more fun if you get lucky and find their hometown.

Many people from WAAAYYY back in history have referred to us an an entirely different race altogether.

Definitely learn the history about your ancestors. We haven't exactly had it easy...

Wear that ethnicity with pride!!
