if you are small boned then yeah you are about right for your height. but if you are medium or large boned then you are little under weight. first of all skipping breakfast is a sure way to gain weight. eating often is better. eating small meals every three hours is the way to go. when you don't eat, people think that will help them loose weight, and at first it does, but after a while your body is not sure when it will eat again, so when you do eat it holds onto everything, and then stores it as fat. when you eat more often then your metabolism will speed up because you are forcing your body to constantly digest. eating breakfast is like starting your metabolism for the day. you are a teen ager so it's okay to have a little junk, but try eating good most of the time. do this combo when you eat. your body needs three things. protein, carbohydrates, and fats. imagine your plate, then cut it into thirds. the first third should have a protein. choose leaner meats, like chicken, fish, turkey. you can have red meats, but keep them sparingly. also stay away from deep fried stuff as much as possible. the second third should be a COMPLEX carbohydrate. or in other words a whole grain. this is like oats, whole wheat etc... the wholer the grain the better. stay away from enriched stuff. the last third should be a fruit or a veggie. choose whole and raw. these are best. so this is your plate, and this is the combo you should use every time you eat. your muscles are made up of nothing but protein. only protein can feed them. your brain and body has to have energy to survive. energy comes from the sun. plants eat this up. so you will find your energy in your carbohydrates. which are grains, and fruits and veggies. this will help you get rid of your belly if you really have one, and you will feel great too. also lift some weights, and do some cardio. this will put some muscle on that skinny body of yours. muscle burns calories. cardio helps burn fat. and make sure you rest. all this is key to loose weight, be healthy, and keep weight off as you age.

It sounds like you are at a very healthy weight and I'm willing to bet you look a lot better than you see yourself (as most teenage girls do). Really, to a very high degree, you should weigh as much as you feel happy with weighing.

As long as you are at a weight where you are healthy, the most important part is that you are HAPPY with your weight... not that you "should be X pounds", but that no matter what you weigh, you are happy with that instead of striving to be a size 2 or something like that

That being said, if you want to lose weight, exercise is a really good (and safe) way to lose weight. In addition to that, I would recommend meeting with a nutritionist or dietitian to see if there is something else that may benefit you more

an excellent exercise, you can do it in front of your TV: sit on a
stool, and put your toes under something (piece of heavy furniture, for example). In your hands hold a little dumbbell. Please, make sure that it is not very heavy, start with one kilo, for example, or you will damage your back and spine!
Slowly move the upper part of your body back, until it's parallel with the ground. Stop for a second and move it back to the sitting position. Repeat ten times.
Every week add to the number of repetitions.
You will see the results in a week, guaranteed! You will see or feel under the fat - if you have any - six pack and muscles. Dumbbells do wonders. Much better than these crunches - I came up to three hundreds and there was no results AT ALL. With the dumbbells you will see it in a week.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

Get started today!

Some of these answers annoy me. Your weight is fine. The word "perfect" comes to mind.

The only variable you can really control is exercise. Find a method exercise that you enjoy and do it every day. Build muscle. Eat what you want when you are actually hungry and stop before you are stuffed full. Try to eat a balanced diet, but don't limit yourself with a bunch or rules and diets. Diets don't work and are unhealthy in the long run. Only do things that are healthy and that you can do forever, for the rest of your life, like cutting fast food forever. 95 percent of dieters gain it all back in one year and 99 percent do in two years. Dieting is associated with weight gain over a long period of time. You need at least 1200 to 1600 calories every day just to perform basic bodily functions.
If women like you learned to love their bodies, a billion dollar industry that cashes in on insecurities and making people feel like they are not good enough would collapse. Quite frankly, being a little fat isn't as unhealthy as being thin. Anybody who thinks diets or restricting food types is a good idea is uneducated about the human body. Short cuts do not work. Most of the weight you lose is water weight. For health, eat a balanced diet and exercise for the health and endorphins and forget about an ideal shape. The average age a girl starts dieting is 8. 1/3 women are on a diet at any given time. 4/5 US women are unsatisfied with their appearance.
Your body has a set point weight that it wants to be. If you starve yourself, the body will fight back by lowering the metabolism to maintain it's ideal weight.
Limit your tv viewing. 1/4 TV commercials send out a message about attractiveness in this brainwashed society that has been seeing images of beautiful skinny women and mocking chubby people. It's worse for women: look at the number of average or uglier guys on tv and in movies versus the number of women. 30 percent of women in a study rated their ideal shape and it turned out to be 20 percent underweight. Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz meet the clinical requirements for anorexia, and so do 25% of playboy centerfolds. If the flippin mannequins became real women, they wouln't be able to menstruate. Women finally get some rights, but we limit ourselves like this and our bodies are reduced to objects we inspect and criticise. Men decide to only value women for their looks and a thin, attractive wife symbolizes social status for them. Girls call each other fat as the greatest insult they can muster. When did fat become worse than cruel, stupid, dishonest, lazy or cowardly. When did "chubby" start to mean the last four of those things?
We are killing our daughters and wasting our lives trying to meet an ideal that blows. I wish women would get together and fight it instead of letting others control us like this. Unless you are considered obese, or have a BMI of over 25, don't worry about it. Love your body and your confidence will light up the room and give other women permission to love themselves too.

PS anorexia has nothing to do with how smart you are. Most anorexics are EXTREMELY smart, type A, people pleasers who make good grades and stay out of trouble. It's a mental disorder caused by emotional trauma, pressure, and the desire to control the world around you. It's not their fault. If you don't have it, don't thank your brains, thank God, your family, and your personality.

you have that little tummy for a reason....you are still going thru puberty, your body is still going thru major changes, that little tummy is a source of needed energy for when you hit another growth spurt. As for your diet, you have it backwards, breakfast should be the largest meal of your day, it is what fuels you thru the day...by eating your largest meal at dinner, most of that food gets stored as fat because you are sedentary and go to bed too soon after dinner to make use of those calories. Think about having breakfast be your main meal of the day, have a small lunch and a smaller dinner.

first,i would plan a diet schedule for myself and prevent myself from eating supper.other than that,i would just exercise everyday and eat in small amounts,to avoid gaining extra weight.

second,i would plan a diet with more vegetables and fruit instead of red meats, oily and sweet foods.

note:don't skip ur breakfast.it's important if u want a better result in your study.at least, you eat something like oatmeal.you try to replace your snacks with fruits....actually,if you really want to lose some weight, you just have to have perseverance, that's it.if you are determine about it,then work it out!!

don't need to lose weight all u need is to make the belly fat a muscle , crunches, and get rid of those snacks, if u don't have it in the house u won't have the urge to eat them, try not to eat after 6pm, eat at reg hours so ur stomach gets used to it.
