I am lifting weights and building muscles as a result. I also walk for 30 minutes daily. I just lost 2 kgs in 10 days. Do you think the process has been slow in reducing my weight? I want to reduce my weight from 80 kg to 65 kg within two months. And i am 5'7. Any tips for enhancing my progress within that time frame?

I think your on the right path. What you must remember though, is muscle weighs more then fat. So, the more and heavier you lift doesnt always translate into more weight loss. If your main concern is losing weight, cardio should be your #1 priority. :)

2 kg is around 4.4 lbs thats a fairly rapid weight loss. That's about double what is considered the recommended weight loss level by doctors. It addition to that you are building muscle and muscle weighs more than fat does so, you are really losing alot of fat in a short period of time. I do not think that it would be healthy for you to try to speed up the process. I think that you should be less concerned with the scale and more concerned with how you look in the mirror. If you are 5'-7" then for that height 65 kg is too little. You should not go below 70kg. I would say I think that you are doing great. I'm very impressed.

1. Count calories and reduce your total by 500 calories per day.
2. Drink 8 cups of water a day. And yes that will mean you'll be going to the bathroom every hour.
3. The last meal of the day should be 4 hours before bed time. But you can have a small snack 2 hours before bed. Just don't sleep on a full stomach.
4. Best time to excercise is in the morning. As soon as you wake up, your body is ready to burn fat (it's been hungry for hours). At other times of the day, you may spend as much as 30 minutes of excercise just to START burning fat.
5. Use pounds instead of kg to report your weight... damn you Europeans =P

Large amounts of weight lost quickly equals large amounts of "found" weight after the diet. It is also a health hazard...even if you were under direct Medical Supervision.

Try for about a kilo a week, which is the ideal safe limit for weight loss. When loosing massive amounts of weight in a short time, you (generally) loose muscle AND fat.

Talk to a nutritionist about how to structure what you eat to take it off, and then to keep it off while maintaining the muscle.

I was in this position not longer then a year ago. I used to think that if i worked out and did regular exercise that i could eat nearly anything i want and be OK but boy was i wrong.
I found out that its all about the fat intake. I go for food products with the least amount of fat and i found that it helped allot. If you have the ability to decrease the amount of fatty foods and increase your fibre and protein, you should find that within two months that you have allot more muscles and less fat.
To answer your question, that at your rate, you should be able to. Good Luck :)

if you're lifting weights, you will actually gain body weight. this is because muscle fiber weighs more than body fat. however, this increase in muscle weight will be a "more attractive" weight as your muscles become more defined.

note that gaining weight through muscle takes a long time to do. you're probly looking at at least 6 months of weight lifting before muscle mass starts to add to your body weight. note also, that some fat will be lost to a gain in muscle. so there is a net effect as well.

first off, i hope you relize that muscle weighs more than fat, i am not so sure you should be lifting weights right now until you get to the weight you want to be, simple diet, and like walking, or jogging should help, but lifting weights, not so good, like say muscle weighs more than fat.
