There are only three things now in my 42-years of life that enrage me. Abuse of animals, abuse of children, and abuse of women. There is no excuse - I'll say it again - there is NO EXCUSE for a man to ever hit a woman. Unfortunately, I have seen very few examples where a man will change abusive patterns. It usually takes a life altering and a life changing experience to change abusive patterns. You are in a really difficult situation right now as you are on the outside looking in. You see the situation for what it is, but your friend sees the situation for what she wants it to be. Unfortunately, there's not a lot you can do as a friend except be there for her and hope she doesn't get killed in the process. Both of you will be in my thoughts...

i was broody for a third until i had the 2 kids i got at school. after that i had no desire to have anymore now they are off my hands for 6 hours a day i dont want to go back to nappies, crying, lost dummies, sick and a constant stream of dirty clothes. if i got pregnant now it really would be the end of the world.

I can't say i have ever been particularly broody, i have 1 daughter who is 4 and i am 38 weeks pregnant with a baby boy.
It was my hubby who thought about having another baby and i just agreed, i have never experienced the burnng urge to reproduce that some women get.
So i think you either have this urge or you don't...i dont think i will have anymore tho but who knows!? lol
Out of curiousity....why do u ask?

no longer broody - after 4 kids, i have sympathy when i see young parents with a baby, see the bags under their eyes from sleep deprivation!
Been there, done that, got the T-shirt!

to be honest it depends on the person. i have always loved kids since i was small and want to have some. i think in some ways it's like wanting to have pets, you always will find it cute at the pet shop but if you have enough at home or don't have the desire to take care of It your not going to actually but that animal. ( yes i know kids are a lot different than animals, but i didn't know another example)

Oh most definitely. My Mom was done after us 3 (I have 2 sisters & she also had 2 miscarriages in between them - DAD was the one who wanted more!), One of my friends was done after 1 (hubby wants more tho) & I'm not even sure if I want kids myself....if I do then I don't want any more than 1. For right now I'm just enjoying my niece & friends' kids & that may just end up being enough for me.

I stopped wanting kids after one when I was 20. Oopsy... now I have two. I love the hell out of them but honestly most women I know only want one some two. There are also several that really don't want kids ever.
