There needs to be severe repercussion for these actions. Teachers have become targets for irrational behavior. Our teachers need to be in classrooms without bullet proof vests or black belts in martial arts and concentrating on our youth who are there to learn. The teacher needs to have a say in weather that student returns without fear. If you assault a police person you go to jail. There are consequences without question. It should be the same for teachers. No question.go to jail and don't pass go.

Well, we need to know the whole story. The whole truth. If the teacher did or said something out of line in the first place, the student should report it. NEVER physically assault the teacher, unless it was to defend yourself from imminent danger.

Physical assault is a crime and should be treated that way.

Such an event should lead to the student having charges pressed against him/her. A firm response like that would have a good effect on the other students, they would see what happens when they do things like that.

He/she should be expelled and charged with assault. Teachers have enough crap to worry about and don't get paid NEARLY enough as it is.

They should be expelled and sent to a special school to be reformed. They shouldn't have their entire future ruined due to the incident but they definitely need to learn from it.

They have missed it. Your teacher is trying to teach you things. Do you want to be stupid all your life? listen to her. You might screw up and learn something.
