I have a $200 ticket for running a red light (it was a right on red where you can't take a right on red..)

There are these fix-a-ticket clinics all over Florida that say they can fix it for me for $80 and there will be no points on my license and i won't have to go to driver training school nor take an online course....

I just can't understand how it works.. I'm happy to pay $80 instead of $200 but does anyone understand how it works?

Only thing I have seen in Florida was a safety class. 4 hours of listening to an instructor. When I took it, the court lowered my fine by $10 and the course was $39. Nice thing was that the ticket was removed from my license and even the insurance company could not raise my rates. The class could only be taken once a year. I would contact the DMV about the Fix a Ticket clinic.
I found the website for this company. Key word in their advertising is they "MAY" be able to get you out of the ticket.

You can hire an attorney to handle this for you. Because of their "courthouse knowledge" they may be able to get the DA to change the charge to a parking ticket as long as you're willing to pay the full fine or even some additional. You could also contact the DA's office directly and ask the same thing.
