If humans someday manage to colonize planets in other solar systems, do you think that the colonists are likely to practice the Christian religion on those other worlds? Or is Christianity too Earth-centric?

For instance, according to the bible, when Jesus returns he is going to come down from the clouds to Earth with trumpets blazing, etc. But, if Jesus is supposed to return to Earth, what about all the colonies on other worlds? Would Jesus do a repeat performance on all of them?

Satan was supposedly cast down to Earth by God. How would that belief work out with people being on other planets? Do you think they would assume that Satan had to stay on Earth because that's where God threw him down?

Do you think there would be a large enough number of theological problems in relating Christianity to new worlds that it would eventually discourage people from believing in Christianity when living on other worlds?

I read this book called the Keys of Enoch and it said that in the kingdoms of heaven (which are like extradimensional relative to our relm) there was created by the father a program called "the office of Christ" and the high councils of light (angels or highly evolved extraterrestrials) decide when a lower life tribe or planet is ready to receive the christ seed when they're evolved enough.

We would have two choices.

1. Pack them all off to their own respective planets. Christians on one, Muslims on another etc. We could watch them devolve into feudal, primitive cultures with pity.

2. We, that is the normal rational people, leave and let them fight it out on whats left of Planet Earth, while we live the technologically advanced lives we would have had if there had never been any bloody religions.

Just like on earth, the religious organizations will send their eulogists to "teach" these new "flocks", by the tip of the sword or the barrel of the gun, that Christianity (or pick your religion) is necessary to "save" them/their society.

And just like here on earth, these new beings will be persuaded (as an alternative to death/suffering/whatever) to practice the ways that a group of old men have decided is proper and according to "their" God. Of course, for these new people to successfully adopt these new religions, they will have to make financial contributions to the religious organizations that are "saving" them. After all, isn't that really the root of all religious organizations - money? Or is it just power?

The Holy Spirit is everywhere, as is God. The Bible was written by men inspired by the Holy Spirit a long time ago before thoughts of travel to other planets. People, as they travel anywhere, take their cultures and religions with them.

If we colonise other planets and find life, the geocentric view some Christians have of the Universe will definately be disproven.

I don't think people would be any less likely to practice their religion on another planet than they would be on Earth.

Maybe the life forms on the other plaets don't want to be Christian. They might want to stay Glorpians or whatever.

That's all wishful thinking. All man can do is destroy. He's destroyed this planet with technology what makes you think he'll get out of the mess he's created here?
