There are no presents under the tree right now because I have a two year old that would try to open them and a six year old that would drive me crazy begging to be allowed to open just one. So we hide them all until Christmas Eve.

Only the ones sent by family and friends out of state, but they cannot open them until Christmas Day.
I also put one present that I say Santa delievered early and that they can open it on Christmas Eve. It's pajamas like always so they can wear new PJs on Christmas Eve.
I put the rest of the presents under the tree when they're sleeping.

no I don't put them under the tree until christmas eve. we have 2 adult cats and 2 kittens and my kids are 5 yrs old and 18 months old so the presents would be opened up if I put them under there right now.

A couple presents from "mom and dad" to build excitement added every few days would be fun. The majority, including all from "santa" go under xmas eve for that magical christmas morning.
I think we will still save the big ones for christmas eve even after our believers become non-believers. :)

Currently i have one present under the tree for my son (19 months old). He doesn't really understand it right now. But i have the rest of his presents hidden away for santa to bring (actually i can't find time to wrap them).
He can't really get to the present because i have a baby gate going around the tree because he was playing with the glass ornaments.

we put them under the tree once they are wrapped otherwise the tree looks kind of silly sitting there holding the floor down. I guess we see the tree as a centerpiece for the presents. But know that i write that I want to research the meaning of the tree.
