Probiotics definitely play a role if you are taking a course of antibiotics. They tend to rid your body of the good bacteria as well as the bad which can result in loose bowels or yeast infections. Probiotics combat this keeping your bodies natural flora in balance.

Probiotics are starting to become more popular as some of the vaccines and medications we have aren't working on some diseases. There is this nasty little thing called antibiotic resistance coming up more and more.

Yes they do work. There are no risks involved whatsoever. This bacteria is in your body and eating more of the good kind is very beneficial to keeping your body healthy and in balance.

not sure about the products that claim to have them, but it's a medical fact that if you come into contact with small amounts of bateria on a regular basis, you will have a better immune system. i know this is gross, but docs are now saying it's a good idea to pick your nose and eat it! yuck. not a trend i think i'll follow, but interesting nonetheless.
