Eating a wafer as the body of Christ and drinking wine as the blood

In Ireland, up until the last decade, some Christian Brothers and nuns would rape and beat children and disabled children also as a form of discipline. It was very, very common. Most, if not all communities were affected by it. If they were caught doing this by the Catholic hierarchy, they would be transferred to another diocese, sometimes they were sent to North America and Canada. There have been a great many lawsuits here because of this practice. It was estimated that the state would go bankrupt if they were to compensate each victim of this vicious abuse.

Nothing will ever be more bizarre than that.

Wow, the most bizarre ritual that I have ever heard of is the one I think From the religion Judaism..
They have a wall ,and they write letters to God and they get placed in the cracks of these walls.
Its like sending a letter to God.
The wall must look stupid covered in paper.

The E-Meter of the Scientologists is pretty "out there". It measures "disturbances" from what I gather in one's state of being.

Jewish Kaparot calls on the waving of a chicken over the head to transfer sin to the chicken. The chicken is slaughtered and donated to the poor. Well...does that mean you are giving your sins to the poor? Cruel.

Suicide before the comet thing...that is not only strange but as Dexter would say "pathetic".

Discord. Its only strange because it resurrects the invocation of a long dead Greek (or Roman?) deity. Eris. And the idea of sewing discord seems a bit strange.

I had a Mormon friend that said when they burried his dad they actually put simple things like soil, common flowers, even grass in his coffin to give him inspiration in creating his own universe...I found it a bit odd. Yeah.

Just a few. I love studying this stuff. As a note. I am not knocking anyone's religion. Just some things I find odd myself.

They act so strange while they confer with human beings isn't even humorous...it extremely is backbone chilling. while they direct a be conscious to you is like they are chatting with somebody else that isn't there or confer with the partitions once you think of they are chatting with you. they don't comprehend how strange they act and the impact they depart on human beings. They scare human beings.

Not sure it's a ritual but thinking it's okay to kill people who either don't agree with your religion or those who want to leave your religion and join another, scares the bezeezus out of me. It also makes me very angry.

The strange laughter and animal sounds from the Brownsville Revival are pretty bizarre but snake handlers probably have them beat.

Many have beaten me to the eating of the body and blood, which is pretty weird... same for Pentecostal talking in tongues, especially with snakes... circumcision...How about hiding Easter eggs - very bizarre.

They are all bizarre, but the catholic/christian idea of eating the flesh and drinking the blood of jesus is really freaky. It's like a bad scene out of a zombie movie. Some actually believe it becomes transformed into the real thing (transubstantiation), and not simply symbolic.
