the wand will not detect it but the Exray machine will see it. They make you take off your shoes at most security checks these days so don't have it in your shoe. I have lots of tricks on carrying large sums of money if you are really interested.

Most wands are meant for the purpose of metal detecting so it is unlikely it will find paper money, however most airports require you to remove your shoes and send those through the airport scanner so anything supscious looking in your socks will give them cause to search you.

Why not invest in a wallet?

No...those wands are designed to detect only metallic objects...and U.S. paper currency has nothing metallic in it...

Yes they are always searching for counterfeit money especially in the States.
