ok...I live in Connecticut and my husband bought us tickets to see the Christmas Spectacular show in New York City at Radio City Music Hall. He bought the tickets about a month ago and they cost over $300. Well we are supposed to get a pretty big snow/ice storm here on Sunday (for 24 hours) and now I dont know what to do. He still wants to go and thinks that train ride will be totally safe....however we still have to drive 45minutes to get to the train......These tickets were a very rare purchase for us as we do not ordinarly have the money to spend on things like this and it would be awful to just throw them away....Please help and try to give me some thoughts on what you would do. Try to put yourself in my shoes.....I have wanted to see this show since I was a little girl...but I get VERY nervous being on the road in bad weather. What do you think.?

Nicole, Don't even worry about this! As long as you have the love of your life there then you will be safe. I know he will do anything to protect you. Also, train rides are romantic! You should definitely stop worrying because he did get you those tickets and you have to show appreciation for them. Don't worry bad weather only affects when you are driving or on a plane. It does not affect the trains! I know, when I lived in Ukraine I went on the train every time. There was bad weather all the time! Don't worry girl, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, take it and Enjoy! :)

I agree with the suggestion that you should get a hotel and make a nice weekend of it. If that isn't workable, maybe your husband can drive if he's not as nervous about driving in bad weather.

Or stay at a hotel near the train station so if the weather is too rotten, you can stay a five-minute drive away instead of a 45-minute drive.

I like the idea of going in on sat and staying over (if you can find a room. I have used priceline.com with good results) if you can't do sat night in the city I would leave lots more time to get to the train and still go to the show. Enjoy & Good Luck
