I haven't heard anyone discuss this yet. But if anyone wanted to end his run for candidacy, all they have to do is ask him whether he wears the Mormon magic underwear or not.

I imagine he would decline to answer. But if he did so, of course, he would be admitting that he does.

Even the Christians would call him crazy if they found out about that, though.

But seriously, has this been mentioned anywhere?

Hey, Jack, I didn't ask...

For those saying it doesn't matter... are you honestly telling me that it doesn't matter that the most powerful man on the planet, who makes decisions concerning all of our lives, wears undergarments that he believes give him magical powers?

Seatbelt - Wearing my underwear on the outside is SACRED. Don't you see the difference!? Learn some respect!

Garments, often called “Mormon underwear” by those unfamiliar with our beliefs, are a form of religious clothing used by some Mormons. In early adulthood, prepared Mormon men and women typically participate in the higher ordinances of the Mormon temple for the first time. During these ceremonies, they make sacred promises to God, including the promise to dedicate themselves to Him. The day these promises are first made is one of the most important days in the life of a faithful Mormon. From that day forward, Mormons wear their religious clothing underneath their “street closes” as a quite, inner reminder of the sacred promises made. Mormons don’t think of their garments as “underwear,” but rather a sacred reminder of their renewed dedication to God.

Mormonism is by no means the only religion that uses religious clothing as a symbol. Catholic clergymen have religious robes, protestant clergymen often use a distinctive “collar," Jews have their yarmulkes (skull caps), Muslim women wear the hijab, and the Sikh wear their turbans. I have even heard that some Orthodox Jews wear an undergarment with religions significance (the tzitzit), much like the Mormon garment.

Contrary to the allegations of many anti-Mormon bigots, Mormons do not believe that their garments are “magic.” They do not believe that garments necessarily “protect” them from physical injury. Garments serve only as a reminder of special promises made to God; because of this powerful religious symbolism, mocking the Mormon garment is a very offensive form of hate-speech.

This refers to undergarments that all and sundry Mormons ought to placed on each and every of the time, different than while bathing. they are long from suitable to backside corresponding to long pajamas.this is in accordance to the e book of Mormon to remind human beings of their modesty. Outer clothing would desire to hide those undergarments for this reason making it impossible to placed on revealing clothing.Mitt Romney as a Mormon, i'm confident wears then, yet there's no longer something magical approximately them, because of the fact that he misplaced the Republican nomination.

It's not magic, just modest. The point is Mormon men aren't supposed to be showing off their packages with dicksticker briefs, etc., as all that is for family purposes only.

If Joe Montana could wear it in the Super Bowl, it's good enough for the oval office IMO.

No- he doesn't wear magic undies... because they're not magic. Sacred and magic are two different things.

... but then, to an atheist, nothing is sacred.

Even though I'm Christian (Mormon), I am still able to respect a Jew's feelings and not mock his/her beliefs and sacred objects.... same with a Muslim, a Hindu....

So what's your problem?

PS- Thanks AllAboutMormons- while your answer is accurate and factual, I don't know how interested in accuracy and fact the good Captain actually is.

What is with people and their fascination with Mormon underwear? It's a custom of that community, certainly more sanitary than dreadlocks, and doesn't hurt anyone. Frankly I don't care what kind of underwear candidates have, and it's inappropriate to ask them about it. How about finding an issue of substance - such as policy on illegal immigration - to grill the candidates on?

I would respect him more for refusing to discuss it than if he did - and double points for telling off the questioner.

A reporter did ask, and he did decline. I don't remember his exact words. I'm no Mitt fan, but reporters should show more respect than that. I really don't care if the man wears a hot pink thong with a bull's eye on it. It's no one's business and has no revelance.

He would probably say that his underwear is of no concern to anyone but himself.

If you haven't figured out what they are really about yet, you don't deserve to know. These kinds of questions are rude and are making fun of something that we consider sacred. Besides, IT'S UNDERWEAR!!!!!!!!! What does it matter what kind he wears??????

Grow up and learn a little respect.

I haven't heard anything about his underwear issue. He was in my town this week and I wanted to go hear him speak but I couldn't get off work. I still can't decide who is worse...Romney or Huckabee...both are pretty scary.

I wonder if Marie Osmond wore those special undies during dancing with the stars???

I don't know Captain Atheism. I just think you are jealous Mitt's trying to steal your magic underwear idea ...haha..... (Your avatar wears yellow superhero underwear).

But seriously, didnt they ask clinton about boxers or briefs?

So just get Mitt to answer questions on MTV.
What else would our young people want to know about a candidate for president?

You bring up a good point but no I don't think it has been talked about yet. I think if a candidate were to ask him about it they would get a lot of backlash from it.
