At least Donner I read became Donar, who became Thonar, who became the Norse deity Thor. Wouldn't it make sense that there would be a Thunder and a Lightning (Donner and Blitzen) deity?

Well if they were pagan gods, Vixen would definitely be the one "reindeer" I'd like to meet too! lol

Ok as a Heathen I can't help myself
Cite your souce on Donar becoming Thor

I will conced that in High German Donar is Thor, but that doesn't mean he "became" Thor and "Donner" has no link at all. I'll look up the rest later. I'm exhausted. LOL

Lot's of nordic/pagan baggage under the 'christmas' tree, you know.

Heck, all this northern imagery should be be a dead giveaway.

And you do understand that the Pope Gregorious reinvented the Calendar... and a computation of old as compared tonew dates indicates that Christ was born in what would have been September, if we project the Gregorian dates back properly.

The whole thing is a shady deal. Christians Want to celebrate the birth of Christ? That's fine with me. But then when you incorporate everyone one else's symbols (including Madison avenue) into the mix, don't get indignant if other people are less than reverent.

Donner and Blitzen were the first to build remote-controlled toothbrushes back in the 50's. They had a manufacturing company that employed mostly native American Indians and indigenous tribes from Alaska. Their company ("Donner & Blitzen") was the first Fortune 500 company to coin the phrase, "If Thor made automotive parts, would he be a Thundermentalist Piston?"

Nah, they were just the "ones that got away" during hunting season. Santa used them becaue they were the only ones around. He better issue them flack vest when he gets to MY house, I'm running low on venison, and I have half a box of shells left over. LOL

Sure...sounds logical...but I believe Donners name is actually Donder or Dondar...
