I know that Jesus wasn't born on Christmas (He probably wasn't even born in the winter because the shepherds were outside at night. In the winter, even in Israel, it would have been too cold to sleep outside) and that he didn't rise on Easter.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the only reason that we celebrate Christmas in December is because early Christians adopted some Pagan traditions. I can't remember exactly how it happened and I'm not 100% sure if that is correct, but I'm pretty sure that it is.
We celebrate Easter in the spring becuase spring is a time of new life and Jesus gave us new life. There are 40 days in Lent (40 symbolizes preperation) so we celebrate Easter right after Lent.
For me as a Catholic, it is all about triditions.

Explain this to me then.
Zechariah was in the Holy of Holies (Luke 1:5-13) on the Day of Atonement, which usually falls on September 25th…the fall equinox. That would mean that his son, John the Baptist, would have been born around June 24th (summer solstice), based on the truths gleaned from that same passage. And since we know that Elizabeth was six months pregnant (Luke 1:36) when Mary was visited by the angel Gabriel and told the great news of her role in the coming of Salvation (JESUS)…then that would mean that Jesus was conceived around March 25 (spring equinox) and born 9 months later on winter solstice…right around December 25th."

Jesus was born on Christmas, regardless of what date.
An the Bible clearly states that Jesus was raised again on what is now considered Easter.

Yes, that's why I don't celebrate either. Jesus didn't even celebrate his own birthday, so why should we? And if he did, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be happy if everyone was buying gifts for everybody except him.

Yes, the fact is that nobody knows what dates these events took place on. They chose those dates specifically because people were already celebrating anyway.

Base on a Jewish calender, were April is the first month of the year, there is no doubt in my mine that Christmas really was in April or May.

Yes, I do. But I think he thinks it's sweet in spite of whether we imperfect human beings have the date wrong. He's eternal, so time is of no consequence to him. He accepts the honest soul's attempts to honor him. So gracious is he - as a human on the planet, a man of love and peace who represented God to mankind; and now in heaven, as one with our Father in heaven - still loving us all, even you. Merry Christmas!

why does everyone here who does not believe in God have to be so demeaning to us who do? God wants you to love Him, but he will not make you. I think your anger comes from knowing God is real but you refuse to acknowledge Him and it makes you miserable
