Can anyone say the latest on this since I keep hearing different versions on this? Anyone have any idea how long is this madness going to do on. I honestly don't want reality TV all year round and it is bad enough in the summer not to have new episodes much less starting in January not to have any new episodes.

Despite which side you hear the news from, the bottom line is union talks failed between the writers and Hollywood Film/TV (HFTV), inc. Which is a boon for reality TV fans--just what we need more of like a root canal.

Talk show hosts are divided on the issue; the more successful ones seem to opt for continuing on by paying production costs (which they can effortlessly afford)--and reaping more of the ever prized advertising revenues; their biz lawyers are a-buzz busy these days.

HFTV, inc clearly has the capital to hunker down w/out hurting for years and years, they don't stand to lose. The striking writers, however should brace up for hardships--facing the long road in their stand on principle.....and what surmounts to a really trivial issue: a small percentage of Internet streaming video runs of their shows.

For the stand on small profit and principle, we're caught in the crossfire.....for now. For aspiring screenplay writers who before couldn't get their foot in the door---opportunity knocks....and HFTV, inc. is glad to welcome a meeting from you!!

Leno and Conan are going back on the air in January, strike or not. While this does not officially bust the strike, it seriously weakens it.

While I am 100% for workers organizing and excercising their right to collective bargaining, this is limited in my perspective to people that actually work for a living.

Writers, Teachers and Government workers "unions" are bogus organizations that have no right to strike.

bad.. very bad. No one is willing to give in on their standpoint... This could go on for a very long time. Last I heard, they had talks on last tuesday and the writers walked out. Be prepared for an extraordinary amount of reality tv. :[

From what I've read, everything is still at a standstill. I think it could go on for a long, long time.
