Hi Guys!
It's that "wonderful" time of year again when the Christmas gods decide to bless us with bitter cold temperatures and to make sure we are completely cranky flakes, flakes and more flakes of pretty, pain in the butt snow! I was just wondering is it snowing where you live? I live in Nova Scotia and the weather just keeps on snowing and snowing...The weather changes every 5 minutes. For some reason whenever I wake up in the morning the sun goes back under the clouds. Ugg! So is it snowing where you are and if so is it a bad storm or little flurries?

If you answer this first you will probably get 10 points for a "blizzard" and 0 for some "flurries!

I live on a farm in the high mountain desert area of Idaho (4700+ feet). We've been getting snow off and on since October.

It's 10 degree (F) outside right now, with a 12mph wind, so windchill is making it bloody well cold outside.

It snowed yesterday, snowing again today. Supose to stop for Saterday, and then snow heavly for the next four days after that. ~sigh~

Makes taking care of the animals a lot harder when it's so cold and snowing. Worse yet, I've got two does (goats) who got pregnant late, and are going to kid in the next week. This means going outside every few hours and checking, so I don't have frozen babies on my hands.

I know what you mean about being cranky. I laugh about some of the questions about if Christmas lights are green or not. Frankly at a certain point, I don't care....I just want to see some pretty lights, anything to make me more chipper!

Everything outside is a uniform grey. The sky, the snow covered landscape...you can hardly tell in the horizon where the land, and sky start and stop, everything is so uniformly grey!!

All the cars have turned the same uniform sludge covered brown. I swear the only color in the world is Christmas lights.

Did I mention on the day it's not supose to snow the temperature is going to drop, and the winds are supose to howl, which will pick up all the snow, and often makes conditions worse than if it actually were snowing? ~sigh~

At least we had thunder snow a few weeks back. I like thunder snow, so that at least was fun. (thunder, lightening in a snow storm.)

Ok, now that I'm feeling even more blah, I think I'd better go find a chocolate chip cookie, and a bright red shirt to put on. ~lol~

Hi!

It isn't snowing right now, but we do have about a 3 inch covering. We do expect a storm on Sunday, and to get 8 to 12 inches, which I am happy about, because we have had too many green Christmas' here in South Eastern Ontario, Canada.

To Garnet - I hope your chocolate chip cookie and red shirt have cheered you some. You know that Winter Solstice is due on the 22nd of Dec?!, - maybe you can get some comfort knowing that the Sun will be steadily making her way towards summer time! Hope your goats fare well...

No.
The last time it snowed here in Austin Texas was February 14, 2004. It has only snowed twice since I moved here in 1994, but long time residents say it snows about once every 10 years.

No its not. It snows in northern and southern Texas, but rarely here. Im from the East coast, and snow is the one thing I miss. Here many yrs. people BBQ in the park on Christmas day. Just can't get used to that.
