Not much as we can't afford it.

He's one year old and he's having a talking "Iggle Piggle" from the Night Garden from us and my mum has bought him a "Bounce n Spin Zebra" and a"Ninky Nonk" train (also from the Night Garden).

We are living on one low wage at the moment and with a mortgage and bills to pay we can't afford to go mad with Xmas shopping. We're waiting for my other half to get paid on the 21st before we can buy anymore presents! I'm going to try and get him a cheap baby walker and a shape sorter as well but that will have to be if for this Christmas.

How many gifts do children need? I think every Christmas I worried that I wasn't providing enough. As I look back I can't remember what I got for Christmas (a few special gifts stand out) What I remember is being with family and loving every second of the season. The number of gifts don't matter. I think it is far more important to teach them the reason we celebrate Christmas. Don't fall into the trap the merchants want you to be in. Make sure your childrens needs are met, and throw in a little bit of fun.

We got our 15 month old boy a pull out couch of his own for the living room. A few outfits and a couple of toys for his stocking.

*edit* ok now that I read all these others I wonder if everyone else is spoiling their kids or if I'm treating him way below average. We only spent about $80 on him because we figure we never wait until just special occasions to buy him stuff, he gets new things all the time...

My 7yr old has a mobile phone, a sylvanian families house, a few bratz dolls, a polly pocket cruise ship, a typewriter, a bike, and a few other things!

My 5yr old has a DS Lite, a twin buggy playset, my baby doll, a few bratz dolls, a bike, a dora the explorer castle, and a few other things!

Their both girls!

I've spent about £900 on each of them, I know thats loads, but we don't really have any extended family so what they get from us is basically it, also I only buy them toys at Christmas and Birthdays, if they want anything else throughout the year, they either wait till these times or save up their pocket money for it!

My son is 8 and has got nothing so far. I'll go shopping next week. He will get 2 toys, 1 game, toolbox , 1-2 books, and clothes(he needs them), Santa is bringing a sled and pocket knife for an upcoming whittling project. His wish list included: A great dane, a rabbit w/all the stuff but I drew the line at living things!
