Nova Scotia has some beautiful small ocean beaches but the water is usually not bearable until late August and September and by then the air is getting cold. PEI has the best beaches on the east coast (never checked out BC's beaches), they're quite long and wide and the water is actually warm all summer (they claim it's the warmest salt water north of the Carolinas due to the currents). Parlee beach in New Brunswick is also nice. Lakes don't cut it for me...although I'm sure there are nice ones.

I like Jericho Beach in Vancouver because it's a big beach with lots of room and the scenery of the city and mountains are fantastic.

One of the best beaches for me is Wasaga beach -Georgian Bay, between Collingwood and Barrie, Ontario. It is 14 km in length and is the longest freshwater beach in the world!
and of course
Grand Bend beach- Lake Huron, west of London,
Turkey Point - lake Erie, southwest of Hamilton,
Sandbanks - lake Ontario, south of Belleville
Batchawana Bay - Lake Superior, north of Sault Ste. Marine
Well all those beaches are in Ontario and on the Great lakes but hey.

Parlee Beach in NB and Grand Beach in Manitoba are two of the best IMO. Wreck Beach in Vancouver is great if you like smoking dope with fat naked homeless men.
