I don't believe it's very GOOD for them. But, I have a cat who's nuts over ham and bacon. He very rarely gets any bacon, but I do occasionally give him a couple bites of very lean deli sliced ham. He's almost 11 years old and it hasn't caused him (or me) any grief yet.

I have always been told pork of any kind is very bad for animals. It causes pancreatic problems which if they can be saved would cost you a bundle at the vets.

It may be bad for them but I feed it to my cats all the time and I haven't had a problem with them.

as long as its cooked properly its fine unless your cat is Jewish. far better than what is in cat food. you could also try canned cooked crab, canned tuna, cooked frozen prawns (run under hot water to defrost), boiled scallops (trader joe's if you have one close) or steam or bake some frozen fish.
