Christians should follow in the likeness of their Jewish Messiah and King. Not to be righteous through the law but to be trained in the ways of righteousness (2Tim3:16).

Yes, with the understanding that the priesthood has changed and animal sacrifice is no longer required. And with the understanding that the whole purpose of the Law is to teach love towards God and love towards neighbor. The spirit of the Law remains the same, some of the letter is changed.

Hogie ,in your posts it is plain you understand neither old or new.

Uncle Theist: The new covenant is the same Law, different approach by God:

Jeremiah 31:31 See, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new agreement with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah:
32 Not like the agreement which I made with their fathers, on the day when I took them by the hand to be their guide out of the land of Egypt; which agreement was broken by them, and I gave them up, says the Lord. >>>>>>>33 But this is the agreement which I will make with the people of Israel after those days, says the Lord; I will put my law in their inner parts, writing it in their hearts;<<<<< and I will be their God, and they will be my people. 34 And no longer will they be teaching every man his neighbour and every man his brother, saying, Get knowledge of the Lord: for they will all have knowledge of me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord: for they will have my forgiveness for their evil-doing, and their sin will go from my memory for ever.

It was impossible under the terms of the Sinai Covenant for sin to be forgiven this way.

Hebrews 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises

The new covenant is plainly founded on better promises than God gave to the Israelites at Sinai, however, it says nowhere that it is founded on better laws, indeed, Paul says in Romans that the Law is HOLY, JUST, and GOOD. How could he make that statement about something he was teaching as being "done away"?

I could quote a lot more scriptural proof, but are you willing to really believe God?

tcjstn: Have you ever studied the etymology of the word "Jesus"? Are you aware that some versions of the Bible render "Joshua" and "Jesus" interchangably in Hebrews 4? The Messiah's name was most definitely not "Jesus".

The answer to your question is found in Acts 15.

No, Christians are not bound to the old covenant law that Jesus was born under, and that was extant during the reign of David.

Do not overlook the prophesy of Jeremiah in chapter 31 regarding a new covenant for Israel, not like the old one.

Yes. The Bible says "Be ye holy for I am Holy." I'm curious though, why do you say "bound by"? Interesting choice of words.
Also, why not name Him Jesus? Something seems off here...
