I'm 28 years old. My 79 year old Grandmother who raised me has two sisters who have both said nasty things about me. One repeatedly told her and me that I was being dishonest about my work activities, etc (even after I provided proof that I wasn't). the other sent me a nasty email and the ip address was traced back to her. My grandmother continues to converse with them without addressing the issue and says it is not her place to have asked them to stop gossiping about me. In short, she claims they can say anything they'd like about me, but it's not appropriate for her to politely ask them to stop. I'm not asking her to cut communicaiton with them, simply asking her to defend me, but she claims that christian people don't do that. Am I out of line?

I would not pay attention to your grandmother's sister sayings. Just try to stay away from them and ask your grandma to love you from who you are and ask her not to share your life to others; In this life you always will live with negative and positive people; always take what's best for you. She's right. Why would you pay attention to things said about you when you know they aren't true? Apparently your grandmother knows they aren't true. Isn't that all that matters?
Its never a good idea to ask people to make choices between family members. Your grandmother can love her sisters and you at the same time. You should take some guidance from her and turn the other cheek.

They are old and are not going to change their ways at this point. Ignore it and don't try to prove yourself to them.
