ok, i contacted the council to remove some of our big furnitures like sofas etc..

then we found out that we are going to remove more, such as another sofa and a cabinet..

do i have to contact them again about more stuff to be removed, or shall i just take it outside along with my other items so that they can collect it?

It depends on the policies in your municipality. Sometimes they allow a certain number of these items each week. You should call to be sure, or you could receive a fine. Are you familiar with FreeCycle? If there is one in your area, you should try to give the stuff away instead of trashing it. Also, talk to Goodwill or Salvation Army if other options are not available.

It is possible that they will need a larger truck or to make multiple trips to cart away your additional items, so, if only to make it logistically easier on them, advanced warning would be appreciated.

P.S. Your "main" question was not only vague, but also brought up images of - - how should I say it? - - nastier kinds of "waste"! ;) Next time, try asking something like, "Should I call the carting service if I have more for them to take?" ("carting service" would be far more understandable than "council", in this context). Cheers!
