A socilaist would be disappointed due to the lack of uneven representation in the military. The class warfare lies won't work unelss they can first convince people that unequal representation exists where it does not.

What is uneven representation in the military? The war dead generally speaking has followed the demographics of the United states with about 75-80% being white males. it has been a common myth that the military during Vietnam war down to the current one in Iraq is over represented by blacks and minorities when in fact, and this is especially true for combat arms units are overwhelmingly white and middle-class. In any case they generally follow the demographics of the USA as a whole.
The socialist view would be that America's wars are directed by the rich white people and fougth by poor, exploited minorities. When in fact it is the whites that have always borne the brunt of America's wars. That is not to denigrate the blacks and other minorities including women that have served, fought and died for the USA.

By "uneven representation" do you mean that the poor/minorities are in a higher percentage in the military than Whites/rich folks? If so, a socialist would say that this is another example of the exploitation of the masses (proletariat) by the elite (bourgeoisie). The proletariat's labor is exploited for the profit of the owners of the means of production and then their lives are put at risk in the military to protect the owners corporate interests abroad.

There is not uneven representation in the military. It is a volunteer force.
The 'representation' is the citizens willing to serve the greater good by wearing the uniform; with all the duties and responsibilities that come with it.

Actually, the whole thing about African-Americans being overrepresented in the US military is a myth. I suppose as far as poorer people being in the military, that's obviously going to be viewed as economic determinism by a socialist. The irony is that people who join for economic reasons tend to go in for non-combat trades that will help them when they get out and are thus less likely to be casualties.

A socialist would say that we need to have mandatory service to the all powerful state. Individuals should have no choice or right in the matter, everyone should serve the all powerful government.
Because Government is their god
The Army is disproportionally Rural and White.
The Marines and Navy are Disproportionately Hispanic.
All Services are 100% Individuals who made the choice to serve, and we should keep it that way.

Not being one I will say that being a socialist and already having made up their minds they would say, as so many do here, that it is a method for the upper class to expand there wealth and power bu using the masses to fight their war. Bogus B S but that would and is many of their claims as evidenced though the questions, statements and answers by them about it on this board..

A socialist would not have to ask such a question of their own nations military because odds are they would be in it . It is called the draft and most socialist countries have it. Hence, they would have equal representation throughout their military.
If you are asking about the USA then it is entirely different. We of course are evil to them because we believe in freedom to either join or not join in service to our nation.

MP has it right. Socialist's aren't happy with the military because they don't understand volunteering for a cause bigger than themselves -- being forcibly conscripted yes but not volunteering! They would want things to be "fair" which as we all know is not realistic.
