download the program,
install the program,
go to one of the many torrent sites (like those metioned above)
download the file from the site (very small file),
drag and drop that file into bit-torrent and it will begin downloading that file (you can then delete the small file)
once downloaded it will be saved in a new folder right click and select browse download directory to jump to that file.

As said above, it not hard. Just do it and you will learn. Normally once you download it good to stay connected to "Seed" back into the "Swarm". People who download and disconnect are called "Leechers" and they will not get as fast as those who "Seed"
Also, if you notice it not downloading check your Firewall. Torrents use the Default Ports of 6881-6889 and you may need to allow these Ports to send and receive.

install the program and than download torrent files from dedicated sites such as www.mininova.org and open that files with your program
by the way...the settings for the program should reduce for more simplicity to choosing the place for your downloads to be stored
