The Darwins face the same problem as that faced by the Great Train Robbers - Ronnie Biggs etc.

What exactly?

The Darwins have made the UK.gov look crap.

Response - UK.gov is going to make the Darwins eat crap.

It is not the magnitude of the crime, it's the fact that they have [or he has] fraudulently obtained a UK passport by passing himself off as a dead person, in this case a child born at or near his own birth date but who died shortly thereafter.

As for the wife, well she is an accomplice.

Funny thing is this couple may never have been found out or caught were it not for the Internet. Someone was surfing [like you do] and came across the now widely publicised photo of the couple posing with an estate agent [I think]. The person who found the photo contacted the police. The fuzz moved in fast.

What we have here is a case of a person who has duffed up UK.gov - bad person, very naughty, go to jail for a very long time. Maybe as long as life itself. I will not be surprised if the UK.gov do not push for the max penalty possible - which must be a lot.

After all, what we are talking about are two criminals who have done a fraud, hurt no one and nearly got away with it.

Bad, very very bad.

"Members of the jury, do you find the prisoners guilty or very guilty"?

Two different matters.
It is just as well that we have the Police, despite their shortcomings. The alternative is too difficult to contemplate.

The latest news about a potential strike action, should instill everybody with fear.

Unfortunately, there are insufficient numbers of Police officers on the streets. They have now got to respond to calls in a Priority order. This might look odd to the 'old soldiers - or policemen - as every call was dealt with as it came in in their day.

Better we help them to do their job than criticise them too much because without them the law abiding community would have no chance.

If you know the villain, report it.

Answer - they're both remanded in custody because they have a habit of going missing.

They'd have to be given strict bail conditions - they didn't apply for bail because they know they wouldn't be granted it.

To be fair to Mrs Darwin, she did fly back to the UK off her own bat when she could well have waited to be extradited, but they are both in a lot of trouble.

As for teen gangs, muggers and the like - I'm sure these people would be remanded if they were caught.

The Darwins should rightly be on remand in jail, whether its Christams or not.

I also think that all the scum bags who deal drugs, steal, rob, rape, fiddle, assault, muder, etc, etc should also be locked up. Some are some get away with it.

Moan at the government. They are the ones dragging the country down!!!!

the teen gangs do not harm the establishments with money only harm the likes of you and me and our families who are nobodies in the world of finance. Should you be fortunate to belong to a high status family the whole of the British law and legal service is at your beck and call

World gone mad like the Darwins. Maybe if they let them free they will be off into hiding for the next 10 years.

it's just typical of those in charge of justice should lock-up two embezzlers, while like you say, teenage tear-aways are either killing one another or innocents caught in the cross-fire!

this year, christmas spirit is sadly lacking.
AND it would appear that punishing the guilty is becoming harder & harder to do.
The prison system descends in to melt-down from over-crowding, plus guilty pleas from criminals expecting a shorter sentence, more criminals returned to jail after breaking early-release orders etc etc.

SO what idiot thought DNA technology, proving guilt conclusively, would NOT FILL UP PRISONS spaces quicker than usual?
this stupid government instead of concentrating on 2 Wars & feathering their own nests should have built more ruddy prisons.

Because its all about money. You cant stiff any cash out of a skint chav, but certain parties will be able to rape the Darwin's pockets forever.

This could be serious fraud and would you trust them not to do a runner?. We all have to pay in a round about way for this type of fraud and yes they deserve to be in jail over Xmas.
