Ok, I'm asking this here because this is my favourite section on Y!A and all my contacts are from here.
Lately I have been noticing people on my contact list that I DID NOT add. I'm sure of that because I choose my contacts carefully, I thoroughly "scan" them. I know people can add me as their contact, and that would make them my "fan", but is there any way someone can "creep" up onto your contacts list?

In the past when contacts have changed avatars or user names, I have been able to tell it is still them. I have a "mental relationship" with my contacts, even if I don't communicate with them directly. I know how each one writes. If I'm not sure I write to them to ask.
The one I deleted today was someone I would not usually add to my list.
I think I'm studying too hard :-(((

sis, I notice that also. I also notice them adding me and I did not even know about it. at one time y/a would let us know when someone was adding us, but now they don't let us know

i really don't know, i haven't noticed that. maybe it was just accidently placed in the wrong spot. just remove them if they are not someone you prefer to have on your contact list. maybe God wants them there, maybe he see's something that you don't see yet, maybe you are supposed to influence these people in some kind of way...just a thought. i sometimes allow others that don't share my beliefs, to be my contacts because i might be able to win them to God. when you ask and answer questions, your contacts are able to see and read all that you write, suppose what you write starts to make sense to a lost soul, and if you weren't in their list, they wouldn't have had that chance and God will need to use someone else as a vessel to reach them. Hello Ms. Anar, the answers you got is correct. They change their name and avator. Why people do that, I don't know. I know its confusing. It takes me time before I realize who they are. You can catch them fast, then you are very observant. Good for you. Yahoo always mails me when someone chooses me as a contact. Most likely after I look at their profile I will also take them as my contact.

Maybe it is a contact that you did add, but then they changed thier nickname or avatar, so they look like a new one.

No, noone can creep up onto your list. Those persons probably changed their screen names or editted their profiles.

fans cant become contacts unless you add them back
they changed their names

they pick you ,after that you can add or remove, when you get the notice in mail
