you need the right type of snow, when you get snow, at first it will usually be very powdery, not good for sticking at all, when you get wet snow, it will stick to jsut about anyhting, buildings, people, other snow, trees, you get the point, thats the kind you want. start by making a softball sized snowball and roll it along, couple things about that, dont do it on mulch or loose dirt, and it doesnt make a ball, it makes a cylinder. rond of the edges and compact the snow with your hands. repeat, making smaller snowballs each time, untill you have the desired height. add a carrot and coal (or other medium) and there ya go

Two of those guys are right -- you need the right kind of snow -- the kind that falls when it's just warm enough to make it sticky, but not warm enough for rain.
If you don't have the right kind of snow, you might try spritzing it with a squirt bottle and see if that gets it sticky enough. You can also add food coloring, and make rainbow-colored snow sculptures.

The snow has to be the right moisture. Start with a smaller snowball and just keep rolling it around collecting more snow until it's the size you want
