jee, that's hell... the child's mental and I guess physical safety is in danger. He beats his dogs now, but that's one step away from beating his child, especially if he does coke... So, I guess the right thing is to report him. Is there another relative that the child can stay with? Or with you? At least till the father gets some help or something?
It's cruel to leave the kid live in such conditions among strangers and drugs and beatings... It's too much pain.

Yes, he definitely needs to be reported IMMEDIATELY!!! And yes you can also remain anonymous, you just have to request that the social workers from CPS keep your name to themselves after you voice your complaints and concerns about the child and the unsafe environment. They will begin their investigation, and your name will not be brought into it.
You can also call animal control or your local ASPCA and report him for the abuse of his dog as well. You have the option of remaining anonymous when you voice your complaints with them as well.
In both situations, you most definitely need to take a stand and report this guy for his behavior and the danger he is putting his child in, and the abuse to his animal too.
Good luck to you, and it's good to know that there are still good people that won't just sit back and ignore things like this that are going on in the world all day everyday.

If you have someone you can contact, to take the child, such as an ex of this guy, or a trusted family member on her mom's side, that is if her mom isn't also an abuser, it would be better..but you can call annonymously, or even give your name...but you can at least protect this child...she needs it now, before she becomes a rape victim or worse, if she isnt' already..be brave..

Yes you can, you can be anonymous and for the child's safety you should contact your local State family/child welfare authority and report this...and do it as soon as possible. Children die from this sort of neglect...and if people know what is going on and do nothing about it, I believe they are culpable too, or should be.

Call your local Child Protection Agency right now. You do not have to tell them who you are. Just tell them what your wrote. Its your RESPONSIBILITY to report this. If you would post what town this is in, one of us could call, but if you know this is going on and you are doing nothing to protect a child you are also a part of the abuse. SO CALL RIGHT NOW AND SAVE THIS CHILD!

And he's still your friend?
I would worry about the safety of the child above your need for friendship.
By all means report it and keep on reporting it till he gets help or they find someone else to care for his child.

Yes, you can report it. And, it can be done anonymously. Call Children's Protective Services. Someone should intervene for this child.

There is no question you should anonymously report.
It could be his "wake-up" call. Either way, the child will benefit because you cared enough to make the call.
