No President in modern history has rated or rates in general popularity as low as he does now.

Or better yet do some research by googling "Presidential popularity" and visiting some of the websites.

Carter had low ratings but Nixon's were lower still. Bush43 is closer to Nixon's popularity rating than to Carter's.

Hopefully we will impeach Bush43 or he will be compelled to step down like Nixon did!

Someone said "He still has the veto pen" yes and with the help of a weak democratic congress, since 2005 has had his way irrespective of the majority consensus on many issues.

He IS still president though and he does not need OUR approval when he clearly has some powerful people on his side. We are just pawns.
Let it be a lesson to us all on how much power we really have...from elections...throughout a reign of one of our leaders.

Of course he does. Around 30-35% think he's done a good job, and even many of those who think he should have done things differently still support the president...do not confuse poll number's with reality. Congress has a much lower approval rating. BTW, Carter's approval was about 23% and he holds the lowest in history.

Sorry to break it to you but Congress is rated even worse. Have the democrats passed any meaningful legislation?

The only thing I can think of is a meager minimum wage bill, the do-not call list and oh yeah, authorizing military action.

Y'all might want to call Bush a dummy but I wouldnt want to be on the other side of him in a poker game.

As president I would say that in the last year or so require less capital than just straight talk. His poll numbers have been rising so has his political capital.

Really ?

Bush's ratings are in the 30's.

Clinton had ratings in the 30's during his first term.

Carter had ratings in the 30's.

If Bush has no capital left, then why is Congress doing what he wants them to do ?

It is increasingly evident that as a lame duck president, he doesn't care.
