you have to ignore the past of lies, false prophecies death and trampling on Gods word to remain . The evidence is clear but leaving a comfy place to stand for God is too much for most.

Well, I for one wouldn't touch tea (not county herbal tea), coffee, drugs, alcoholic drinks, smoking, sex before marriage, porn, and all the other bad things of the world for all the money anyone had!
These are rules in the church, that we can choose to follow or not. Eventually they become a part of us (well some of us), and as we grow we see that they are actually great bits of wisdom God has given us.
The next question you should ask is what do you GET from being a Mormon. My list will be longer then. ;)
