I completely agree with you, it's utterly ridiculous. How did they figure that the two go together?
I think because they don't like either and are ignorant of both so try to make them look as bad as possible. (or they are all secretly closet homosexuals, or paedophilles - like in the Catholic church, and are scared of being found out, so make stuff up to cover it)

That does appear to be the projected image. But in reality I would guess the correlation between heterosexuality and pedophelia is about the same. The older I get, the more I am shocked by the correlation between fatherhood, step fathers and other relatives being pedophiles. In all cases of pedophilia, it is almost always a relative, church leader, teacher, scout or similar, even judges and police rather than the complete stranger most fear. As a SO we find about 80% of pedophiles are relatives though. Another 15% trusted community leaders and the final 5% strangers. A 20 year study.

Pedophilia involves the sexual abuse of children.
Homosexuality involves a relationship between consenting adults of the same sex.
The Catholic church issued a statement that the church needed to consider if requiring celibacy and not allowing heterosexual marriage was causing Priest to molest children. With a statement like that, it becomes more clear why the Catholic Priesthood attracts pedophiles. Well, that and their policy of moving a Priest to a new area if too many complaints are filed against him. Chronic sex offenders are shipped, without warning of the problem, to the new parish where the same sick behavior begins again.
I don't believe people of faith are pulling the (mis)information from thin air...I believe they are pulling it from the SAND, which is where they have their heads buried while their children are being molested by sexual predators.

People of faith don't know what they're talking about.
Pedophilia and homosexuality is like comparing bread to bricks.
Pedophiles prey on children. Most of them are married men. Homosexuals engage in sexual relationships with individuals of the same sex.
In a nutshell that's the difference. It's really not a hard concept to understand. I have yet to hear of a genuine case of homosexual pedophilia.

People of faith who claim there is a correlation between pedophillia and homosexuality need their heads testing...or learn to keep their uneducated crap to themselves.
There is no connection between the two.

Most pedophiles are retarded heterosexuals, there maybe a small proportion that are retarded homosexuals. But to correlate pedophilia with homosexuality is ridiculous. Anyone propagating that dictum is grossly retarded in their thinking.

Far more girls are sexually molested than boys, but society gets far more up in arms about homosexual abuse.
They are expected to be strung up from the nearest tree, while abuse of girls is "not something you talk about."
By far the most of the abuse of girls and boys takes place with stepfathers and boyfriends of the mothers in the house.
Marriage may not be always perfect, but are you will to let a strange man be around your daughter or son and ruin their life? Think about it.

i don't know the exact stats on this subject but personally i don't believe their is a correlation between the 2.
pedophilia is sick and should be punishable by death.
anyone who harms a child in that manner gets no sympathy from me.
homosexuality is love of the same sex, sounds okay to me.

No, I don't. I also don't make a correlation between heterosexuality and pedophelia. Pedophelia is it's own sickness, it's own 'evil' (IMHO). One's consenting, adult, sexual orientation does not make one sick or evil. It makes one human, and part of the beautiful spectrum that is the quilt of all humanity. I happen to be (mostly) straight, but that doesn't make me a homophobe, a gay-basher, or a moralistic "save yourself for marriage of go to hell" fundie. It's just ONE part of who I am.
