I am a cash strapped student living in a poorly insulated single-glazed house with an ineffective central heating system. I'm warpped up in two jumpers and a scarf but yet I'm still cold. Any novel suggestions for keeping me toasty?

Many home improvement stores sell plastic that you can put over the windows during the winter to help keep the heat in. Wear a hat to stop as much heat from escaping through your head (we lose most of our body heat that way). Don't drink alcohol; it might make you feel warmer but it actually opens your blood vessels, making you lose heat faster. Visit the library during the day.

You can: warm up next to your GF/BF, get a nice huge dog to sleep next to (they give off heat!), put like 10 blankets over you and huddle up in a fetal position underneath, hang out at coffeeshops or pancake houses, go to a shelter for awhile until heating gets fixed, stay with friends?

I feel for ya... I've been there before.
