i remember this question well-and remember laughing long and hard when she posted stop to all -i also remember feeling sorry for her that so one could reach the age when they are on a computer and hold a disbelief in dinosaurs-i do think that this is proof some people arent qualified to be parents---years ago a refusal to see the truth would have ended in that person dieing-my momma told me lions arent real so there- but it seems that we are raising them up today to carry on foolishness like this---smile and enjoy the day

WARNING: IF YOU CAN'T STAND THE HEAT STAY OUT OF THE R&S KITCHEN.
We can be mean, but the poor child left herself wide open. Maybe the experience was a wake-up call for her - at the very least to use spell check - at the very best to think for herself.....
Naaah... Ain't never gonna happen. :*(
I feel sorry for her, too, Desiree. She is fine example of what a fundamentalist education (or lack thereof) can do to a kid - and it obviously does not involve science, English, logic or common sense.
Even if, as some of you say, she is the product of the public school system, ask any teacher about the importance of a student's home life and parental support in the quality of her education.
Namaste,
-Z

No warnings! We all had to take our lumps when we first got here, so should everyone else. It builds character!
Besides, anyone who is that aggressively ignorant and that proud of it needs to be lanced like a festering boil. If she's a kid, then it serves as a valuable lesson. She'll be less likely to start spouting that drivel out in the real world where she'd receive that derision in person. And it might even have given her something to think about. If she's an adult (which is a disturbing thought), she simply deserves what she gets. I don't mean to sound cold, but stupidity needs to have a penalty.

I believe if taken in their proper context, those kind of answers should be a wake up call for the questioner.
With spell check and basic Y! rule (like your initial words should be in the form of a question), there's no reason for anyone to get it wrong. I constantly badger questioners about usage and spelling (you can tell when it is a non-native writer and they should be let off the hook.) It's inexcusable for American school kids to not know how to use their language. Just as inexcusable to say you don't "believe" in dinosaurs. As if . . . .
Hey gibbonboy, that was a product of public schooling. It she were home schooled, she may have had some semblance of intelligence.

You've gotta take the training wheels off sometime!
Even in VR land.
However sometimes as VR people we can be a little unfeeling!
But it's a brave new world.

Wow, this is a first! You actually showed a bit of compassion and a smidgen of kindness for someone who wasn't atheist.
Normally you show nothing but hate and disgust for anyone who loves God.

You learn quick here...R&S.. I didn't come back for a while after the fist time I came here asking for prayer. Be careful what you ask for here...It didn't cross my mind that there would be so many religions here (debating) together.

"She was immediately swamped with responses ridiculing and mocking her..."
That is a clear indication of a typical "it takes a village to raise a child" education system.
You might feel sorry for her.
I feel sorry for you. You have no class, no sense of right or wrong, and yes, you are a "meanie". But I realize you simply are misdirecting your anger at your parents onto religion. I hope some day you can forgive them and yourself.

Yes and no.
Yes because she could have easily lost her faith. (then again I dont have any religious beleifs so who am I to talk)
No. because you told her things her peers would not have opening her eyes to the reality of the world.
