Studies have shown that the oldest child is generally the more successful, but it has nothing to do with them getting more attention, it's because (in part, at least) parents generally tend to have higher expectations of the oldest child (which the child then strives to live up to) and by the time the other children come along, they've relaxed those expectations some.

I have 3 children, ages 10, 6 and 5.
I end up paying the most attention to the youngest, even though I am ashamed of this a bit. But on the other hand, he is the one who needs the most help with things, and is not as independent as the other 2 yet. I think it is also a bit instinctive to keep thinking of the youngest as the "baby" and keep doing things for them even after they don´t really need it anymore. (Partly automatic, partly because one doesn´t want to "give-up" having a little one).
I have heard similar opinions from my friends.
The most successful? I don´t think it depends as much on their place in the family as on their personality. The oldest often has to live up to higher expectations than the others, therefore could be a "trained high-achiever". The middle is typically more relaxed, and could concentrate better on his/her own way, also leading to success. The youngest has to fight through the pack to get his needs fulfilled at times. This is also a good quality which may bring success. But without the right personality and skills, there is no recipe for success based on their order.

Initially the oldest as they are the first but eventually the youngest gets most attention from parents and siblings the middle child tends to be the attention seeker in the family. In my experience in most cases the oldest is the most successful.

The oldest child tends tobecome the most successful because of the responsibility put on them. The youngest is ususally the charmer and gets lol. The middle becomes the mediater and less attention. But anyone can overcome this birth order dilema and find success.

By a survey done in america. The oldest is the most grown up and will help his/her parents the most. The middle child will always think that is the one that is left out ( even if thats not the case). If the youngest is female she will be daddys little angel who cant do no wrong. And if it s male and the middle child also male they will be treated about equally.

The oldest is the most successful. The rewards in business are for leaders, and that's the oldest.
As far as which gets the most attention, it just depends. It could be the oldest or the youngest.

both the eldest and the youngest but at different time.. the eldest gets all the attention in the beginning, he/she gets all the dream and hope from the parents. The youngest get all the attention later. Just different in time.

The Middle child is wedged between the 1st and the Baby. The youngest will be most successful because they learn from their older siblings.
