Why do some of you have a problem with women that cover themselves? This is not regarding those forced to, this is in regards to even those that are not born into the religion. Why have a problem with how Muslim women dress? You are not choosing it, it is not your body, why are you forcing your opinion? I'm a Muslimah. I love being one. I am not abused, I am not killed over not dressing a certain way (that father is psycho and so are the extremists killing women for it!!!). Nobody tells me they are better or above me. My husband does all of the cooking since he enjoys it and helps clean the house as well, because from an Islamic perspective, even though he does work, I am also working by raising the kids and cleaning the rest of the house.

So why have a problem with how anyone dresses? I don't care if some woman is bare naked running around, it's not me and I have no right to say "hey, wear something". If I don't like it, I turn my face the other way. Is that so hard?

I was at my kids school Christmas play yesterday , and a few Muslimahs were there
they looked so pretty in their Hijab that I felt very plain and wished I had a nice head scarf also lol
personally I think it looks very elegant ... and I know that these ladies also have a choice in wearing it or not as I have spoken to them , and they say much the same as you do

Whoever opposes ur way of dress is a extremist......
I love the concept of modestly...

Hijab on a women or child really look's cuteee and beautifull

I respect ur view's.... but when u say....

" why have a problem with how anyone dresses?"" it seem's ur asking quran a question ,,,,,

what if u ask the same question to quran

"why have a problem with how anyone dresses? I don't care if some woman is bare naked running around, it's not me and I have no right to say "hey, wear something". If I don't like it, I turn my face the other way. Is that so hard?"

and my personal view is it's better if everyone dresses modestly,,,,,,, the level or how much we shd cover up is again up to an individual....... no one shd force anyone,,, not even God....... God sure can say ." it will be best if people dress modestly " but the problem come's when he lays out rule's and if people dont follow those rule's extremist get angry and they find an excuse to kill......... coz he will feel he is just doing what God ordered ........
yes i know God dint order to kill ....

I have no problem with someone wearing a headscarf--voluntarily.

I have a huge problem with countries that make wearing a headscarf compulsory...with beatings, rape or even death as the penalty for leaving the house without it. Too many "islamic" countries embrace this madness, and it is they that I have a problem with.

So long as you live in a free society, you have the right to dress and behave as you wish to...including choosing to live according to the demands of your religion. I'm all for it. I despise those who insist on making everyone else abide by their religious traditions/superstitions/dogmas.

Now I shall ask you: Why does your religion have a problem with the way people from other countries and other traditions and attitudes dress? Why the violence against those who do not wear the headress or the burqua? Why such loud voices raised against countries who do not force their population into a restrictive dress code?

If you change your wig it won't be the same! I hate when I'm having a bad bra day! I stay in my PJ's most of the day because I'm retired and not going anywhere! It's Way to cold for luv2no to be out in the weather. I even pay someone to walk the dogs and this point!

Your stance on this is amazing. If only all Muslims had the same attitude of live and let live, there would be no problem. If you have been experiencing problems, it is most likely because of the ignorance of people who like to lump all Muslims into one category. I am glad to know that there are Muslims like you and I wish your voices were heard more loudly! :-)

the issue isn't with how Muslim women dress. i personally think it's great that you don't feel pressured into dressing the way many women do to exploit themselves. i think the issue is with sharia law and how it is practiced in Muslim nations that REQUIRES women to be fully covered and removes all their rights as people especially those involving what happens to them if they are raped or testified against in court by a male... the issues are more about their rights not about their dress...
if i'm wrong please let me know

I don't have a problem with hijab at all (or niqaab for that matter - as long as it's woman's personal choice). Heck, I wore hijab too! So how fair would it be of me to attack something I used to practise? Wouldn't make any sense at all.

Ignorant people are afraid of those who are different. If your lifestyle and beliefs work for you and your family, that is all that matters. It is nobody else's business. Pity those who are so unhappy with their own lives that they have to pick on yours as a distraction.

Exactly. If you want to dress that way, fine. It shouldn't be illegal for women to be topfree either.
