If you can find that by doing some motion the pain increases then, stop and go very slowly in the opposite direction, see if it diminishes.

Move your body very slowly, so you cannot make it wost or injure yourself.

Sit in a hot tube, move the body slowly to find a comfortable position.

If you find some swelling hot and cold compressions will help. Take vitamin B6 for swelling. It is available over the counter.

Hmmm....have you had any past injuries that would cause pinched nerves or hairline (and I mean very very small) fractures in your tailbone. I have a pinched nerve in the lower back and it does that sometimes if I've moved the wrong way. It will hit then radiate down to my foot, too. The reason I also asked about past injuries is because my mom fell off of a horse in the 50's and as we get older (I don't know how old you are so, this might be irrevalent) our bodies are still changing and the body might feel that fracture differently. They did all kinds of scans on her and it took three different ones to see the hairline fracture on her tailbone and she has the kind of pain you are talking about. Her doctor said it was common when people are younger and they fall on their tailbones, think everything's okay til they age. Interesting, huh? Well, hope some of that helps, Good luck.

In addition to a pinched nerve there could be some other type of nerve damage going on. Also, sometimes the way that we sleep at night can cause our nerves to be irritated and hurt. I've had that happen to me a couple times.
