Not enough information here. How old is she? Has she ever been married or engaged? Does she have any kids? How busy is she really? Too busy to date?
*Note to you* A lot of times a girl will tell you she is not dating anyone else so as to not hurt your feelings if she knows you like her. Also, if you two have worked together for a year, she obviously isn't attracted to you or she would have jumped on it by now. This is typically the scenario.

Why do people pretend to be friends with the hopes of dating and when it doesn't work out the way they planned, they get upset? I dunno, but she was honest and told you she wasn't interested. Leave her alone. If you are only being "friends" with her to fulfill some fantasy of yours, you are the sucky friend. Sorry, but reality hurts sometimes. Be happy that she isn't one of the girls that gets into relationships with somone just to be with someone, and spends the whole time making you both miserable. She sounds like she has a good head on her shoulders and I can understand why you would like her, but move on.

Staying single for a while doesn't mean much of anything. Maybe she's not interested in relationships, maybe she just hasn't met a person she feels like dating.
Some people just have other things they do, and prefer to be single.

Maybe she is jus not ready for a relationship.Give her time and dont back out.continue being pals and if it doesnt work between you two you will find yourself moving on without getting depressed. All the best .Try make friends with other women and see if she feels jealous at all.if she doent then start searching for another lady

Probably she doesn't want to be in a relationship or she didn't find the one. since you re friends you should be able to figure what she likes in a guy or what she want and then come up with a good plan that matches her needs. or just take her words and look somewhere else

well i think you people share such a wonderful relationship as friends that she just wants you to be that only ..rather than anything else(lover) she might be scared that if you two start a love relation...and if something goes wrong then she will loose you !and let me tell you...wonderful love stories are not always made by lovers but they can happen by just being good friends ..give a thought.
