oh, that sounds beautiful. For your colors, consider purples, burgundy, gray, antique browns, etc so its not all black. You can get some fabulous victorian boots for the girls too! Check out floral sites for deep dark roses (mixed in with some white) tall, spikey black branches and good god, LOTS of lace!! HIgh collars for the girls with big, victorian hats would be SO amazing. You can sometimes rent historic sites for your wedding facilities to add a touch of the antique. Go to various antique shops with your finacee to look for jewelry, clothes, hats and anything you think you can use! Also check out ebay!! Do black since its a vampire thing but DO use lots of dark, dramatic colors so you can show off the detail of everything. With black, it all just mashes together into one big black lump (especialy in the dark of your reception) check out halloween sites too. You can find some beatiful halloween decorations. Good luck, that is so cool!! p.s. you can really do something soecial with your dress. Try to tie in the victorian look to your dress, jewelry and dont forget the poufy victorian up-do's!!

Dracula 2000 has flashback scenes that are set in Victorian England that you can use for costume ideas. Also, Van Helsing's Masquerade ball scene, and Bram Stoker's Dracula. Or even Phantom of the Opera.

I think it sounds like a fun idea. You can use any colors you want.

Use parchment for your invites. With a wax seal. However don't use a wax seal on the outer envelope since it won't hold up in the mail.

Roses were popular back then for expressing love, but they also had other flowers that they attached meanings to.

Weddings in the Victorian era were not the elaborate dinners people have today. People thought it strange to have dinner at a wedding at that time. They were an afternoon tea that consisted of tea sandwiches and pastries and tea. The wedding cake was simply for display and the slices given to female guests to take home to put under their pillow to dream of their future husbands. Also, since they did this, the cake was English fruitcake, so it was made to last forever and not many people ate them. This was where the groom's cake concept in the American South originated. But you can serve a cake to eat instead if you'd prefer.

Why would you equate a wedding with vampires? That is really strange. Vampires are ugly..so how can you make a victorian vampire wedding pretty? You want one or the other. Normally with some exceptions a wedding is a religious ceremony in a church, and vampires are against God and the Supreme being...Folklore about vampires says that if you put a crucifix in front of a vampire they will shy away and lose their power. Do what you want, but if you invite guests, they will certainly be repelled by your zany idea and maybe be offended. Take heed and think about it before you decide.

He should, of course, wear a formal outfit (not just a tuxedo) in black with a white shirt, etc. If he's into it, he could paint his fingernails red or purple. Best man and groomsmen should wear standard black tuxedos.

You might try a chiffon gown of black, gray and purple. It should be very full and flowing, but shouldn't have a train because trains on gowns just get in the way. An empire waist style works best with chiffon. Some nice rhinestone drop earrings with a matching necklace would add a note of glamour - diamonds would be better, of course .... but .... . Black medium-heeled shoes would be required. Maid/matron of honor and bridesmaids - hm ... gray-purple long dresses with shoes to match, and some simple silver jewelry.

The decor could be purple, gray and black with lots and lots of red flowers.

you can wear a medieval style dress. You don't have to wear white, but just don't wear black. Red is a nice alternative. Gold or a deep blue might be nice too. I'm a white/ivory girl myself but I don't really know the look you are going for.

Maybe your husband can wear a traditional tux, but instead of a jacket wear a high collared cape.
Good Luck.

you have two of my favorite elements, victorian and vampires!! i would love to see your wedding!!! since you didn't go into much detail, this is my suggestion. You can go to a high end costume shop and get those white wigs and to find your dress and his clothes and the bridal parties. lots and lots of candles. cream colored flowers. i agree with watching the two movies mentioned, lots of ideas! if you can afford it, get a wedding coordinator, they can help you a lot and look for things and think of things you might not have before. Good luck and have a great weding!!

Use a lot of red roses and darker colors. You do not need all black. Perhaps a "Till death do us part" theme would lighten the mood a bit...it'd be gothic but still a bit wedding-y too.

i would get tall pillar candles of varying heights to use for centerpieces. set them in a large wreath of greenery and dark and some cream flowers

he can wear a suit from that era
your bms can wear plum, deep red, violet or hunter green

i wouldn't go with black since you said victorian not goth

for invitations i would do them as a scroll on antique colored paper and tie with deep red thin cord- knot the ends about an inch up and fray the end

i can recommend someone to do the invites that might be able to help you out with that sort of idea

I reckon you could do that tastefully!
You could try this site, they may have some ideas..

Or this http://www.gothicweddings.com/gothicvictorianweddingpackage.htm

I'd go with White black and red theme colours (well I spose that's pretty obvious..!) And have 'black' (really really deep red) roses or rose petals..
