As far as some of the things consistently in the R&S there are plenty of uneducated things to get upset at. There are many times when people will say "Why does it say_____in the Bible?" and it is by no means in the Bible. I'm not talking opinions or interpretations, they say something like they are quoting a verse and it's nowhere to be found. And they can't reference it because they don't know where it is. They are just saying what they heard from someone else. It is the secondhand misinformation that gets to me. If someone disagrees with something in the Bible, fine then, that's their right. But don't say it says something verbatum in the Bible when it's not.

i would disagree with you on the basis of understanding doctrine. any child can memorize and repeat things. i see this demonstrated when a kid memorizes the entire conversations and songs of their favorite movie.

i have yet to see an atheist present a doctrinal disagreement.

you may convince yourself, you may convince others but you don't present either a defense of your knowledge that is acceptable to anyone who actually knows the bible.

I would also suggest that your forum of people here are perhaps a bit more educated than the average atheist so you have an unrealistic population to pole from when you are thinking you have the leading edge in presentation of expression and intellectual view.

presenting yourself as the superior people to express yourself is all well and good. But what good is it to be in this minority if you are not doing anything but wasting your time?

people will come to be convinced that atheism is the truth without your comments just as i'm reasonable sure you came to the conclusion not on the basis of visiting this website but on observations and conclusions you made based on the evidence you chose to examine and believe.

and why would you call christains, christs ilk (sic)

if he does not exist and is a sky fairy as some like to call him then your comment denotes profound confusion. he exists or he does not.

your presentation as i said does not persuade anyone you have anything to offer anyone here.

Being Baptist and going to church doesn't mean you know the Bible. Not even seminary makes you know it unless you study it.

Reading the Bible makes you knowledgeable about the Bible. You can demonstrate this by answering questions intelligently.

Muslim upbringing - later on a practising Muslim (yes, yes, the preaching types you see on R&S - that was me), studied Qur'an and Hadith in depth (and that led me to atheism ironically) ... so how can anyone tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about, eh?

The only difference is that as vigurous as I was back in my believing days using Qur'an to prove ''the truth,'' that vigurous I am today using the very source only to prove the different kind of truth. My truth.

I would hope they know more about it than me.
i haven't spent a life time sitting in church.
But how many people have just followed there families beliefs instead of educating themselves on all religions not just Christ based.

People interpret the Bible differently..so every one should not have to agree on the interpretation.

Most christians seem to bash other christians on their interpretations of the bible, do they not? Therefore, there is no need to consider that you are highly knowledgeable simply because you tell us what you posted here. Do not blame atheists for what christians do far, far, far more in this respect.

Jesus was a servant of God and God calls who he pleases. So if God called you to be his servant then would you say to yourself to get over your own self? Thank you and God Bless You.
