Yes, the Australian coat of arms does feature an emu along with a kangaroo, but neither of them seems to be kicking the shield.

The reason you have a Kangaroo and Emu on the Australian Coat of Arms is they are native to Australia and neither animal can walk backwards.

The Emu and Kangaroo have come to represent progress, an unwillingness to back down and Advance forward.

yeah, originally the Emu and Roo were going to be in films, but Jean Claude Van Dam got the job. The Emu and Roo didnt get along in their trailers on location and one of em kick boxed the director in the Goolies so they were escorted from Paramount Studios and were told they will never work in that town again. They only get Extra work now and appear as our national symbols, which we also enjoy eating.

No, its not true. The reason why the emu and kangaroo were chosen for Australia's coat of arms is that neither animal can go backwards, and also they are native to Australia.

I wouldn't be at all surprised, both of them have the ability to use their feet to rip you open with a kick.
