to "xtreme" so you're saying that GOD lets this happens to a 9 month old because she/he isn't willing to accept help?

u ask why don't i help? i can't think of any solutions myself, not that most of the world would go along with anyway. i'm just wondering why someone all-powerful sits on their thumb. i'm not the one making false claims.

i don't see anywhere that i blamed god for anything. just asking why god is never here/there/anywhere... especially for those who can't help themselves. however, it seems it's my fault these things happen although i am merely human.

The people he wants to use to help them aren't opening their hearts but instead hiding their heads in the sand.

WE are God's hands in the world. We are the ones who do the things to create injustice and we are the ones who need to do things to stop injustice.

I have worked on education, awareness and political lobbying on behalf of victims of war and rape in Africa both with my work with Amnesty International and with Catholic Relief Services.

Why isn't Atheism helping them?

These are just a few of the many organizations you can become involved with that will either allow you to directly (by going there) or indirectly (lobbying, education, awareness raising, advance work) help these people. Let us know what you end up doing, unless it is "sitting on your thumbs".

IF your doing it to help the solution (nor the glory) shouldn;t have to be yours. AT least that is what Christianity and God has taught me, so why wait until you come up with one.

I am shocked and horrified by your posted information , of course we people are willing to help, even people without any religion if they keep on eye with this information , i think everybody has a duty to do something appropriate in dealing with situation.

The problem is how? We in a democratic country could handle these cases quickly , thru certain organization or diplomatic channel or a kind of non government organization , and because this requires legal procedures I guess government should be involve fully with the investigation , because innocent lives are involve here . It requires a lot of dialog and cooperation especially from the African side of government , they should educate their people to abandon their belief that raping a baby cures AIDS , and the people who is willing to help should see to it that he / she are willing to risk their lives for this project.

Please read the Bible and learn about God before you try to sound intellectual. God does not promise to stop bad things from happening in this world. This world and the people in it are not what he intended. When Adam and Eve fell from God's grace the curse that is humanity began. Later the lord sent another Adam so that we might have a way to atone for our sins and be able to find our way back into his good graces. That man was Jesus. But simply put the answer to your question is simple, God has no intentions on interfering with anything on this earth until the end of time when the prophecies of the Book of Revelations will come true.

By the number of thumbs down I have received I can see that there are many on here who either don't read the Bible at all or just don't like what it says. Why else would you give me thumbs down for telling the truth then?

You believers, saying they don't trust god or didn't accept god's help... you sicken me. Honestly, you do. You have no ability to think outside your beliefs, to wonder why grown adults rape small babies. BABIES. You're saying those babies didn't ask for help or didn't trust god? Gimme a break.

That happened because people are warped and have no sense of right and wrong... they believe in "god" entities that were created by other men... NOMADS who didn't know the earth was round and thought eating a specific animal would anger god.

Religion and the belief that a fairy tale created by men actually cares about us and what happens to us... THAT is what will destroy this world.

When I read this article it sickened me, and my first comment was going to be please do not blame God, blame the evil and sinful people are raping this babies. HOW SICK IS THAT- and then I read the answers from people like tuberoot who said, it would not happen if they trusted God- GIVE ME A BREAK - they are babies. Why don't we as God's children do something to help these babies and young women, instead of blaming God- we are His hands and feet in the world. Please do not blame God for sin- and do not blame "lack of faith" on the rapes.

Why are you accusing God? This is an evil world and when Christ comes to rule with a rod of iron and bring peace will you be here? I hope so. The fruit of the spirit of God is love, joy, peace, etc.

God does help those even when the suffering seems so unjust to us, of course we grieve, especially for the children, the unborn, the abused, but our faith gives us the understanding that evil is punished but weakness or un-repented sin gives us Salvation. Blessed are the poor for they shall inherit the kingdom of heaven.

That is disgusting and twisted to blame that on God.
Those men will be given the worst punishment imaginable for their perversions. There have been wars started for less reason.

"Blessed are those who thirst for justice, for they shall be satisfied."

edit: very well, I will answer honestly.
I think God sees and God cares.
It is the lack of prayers and good will of ordinary people like you and me that allow these atrocities to occur. No one asks God to bring peace where peace is needed. We are all caught up in our own dramas, oblivious to the tragedy next door until it is too late.

Wow, I wonder if half of the people even looked at the link.

I have to agree with those who said WE need to be helping them. As a Christian, I believe we (Christians) are the body of Christ in the world and we need to take action.

For those of other faiths, or those of no faith, I think common sense tells everyone that they still have social responsibility.

So its our bad, not God's.

Does the people want God's help? God will help anyone who wants to be helped. No He won't force Himself on anyone. No matter how much we want help for someone, they won't get the help until they want the help for themselves.
