I have been pulled over in both NJ and NY recently, but my license is from CT where I live. My question is, which points sytem is used? Do I get the amount of points that the infraction would be worth in the state I got pulled over in? Or do they just send a report of my speeding, etc. to the CT DMV and the CT points system is used?

I.E. Speeding 25 over the limit in NJ is (I think) 4 points, but in CT I think it's only 1 or 2. So do I have 4 points on my license because I got pulled over in NJ or do I have 1-2 points because your home state's point system is used no matter where you get pulled over?

You have 1-2 points. Points will be added as if the offense was committed in your home state (assuming each state is part of the Non-Resident Violator's compact).

Each state has a different point system, so you can't combine points from different states. Perhaps one state may decide to make each violation 10 points and suspend your license at 100.

New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut, are all members of the Drivers License Agreement. The Agreement requires member states to report tickets received by motorists to the state where they received a license to drive so as to receive points, and get an insurance hike. Also, when a state suspends the license of a driver who is from out-or-state, the state where the motorist received a license to drive will also suspend their license as well. Your DMV will receive the number of points from the issuing state(s).

If those states are in the compact agreement, which most all are, your points will apply in the state your license was issued.
