I've watched a vid before of a PS2 game being played on the PS3 with the other half of the screen being played on PS2 itself. Comparing it shows that it's washed out and crappier on the PS3.

Then I've read it's been fixed in the newer releases of the console. Can someone please confirm this? I want to know if we can play PS2 games on PS3 at least as good as the PS2 does. And also, how about the PS1 games?

I'm interested to play the following PS2/1 games on it: Final Fantasy X, X-2, XII, Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, Xenosaga games, Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX, etc.

The PS1 and PS2 games look great on the PS3. Also the PS3 now has the ability to smooth out the textures in PS1 and PS2 games. But before the PS3 had the ability to smooth out the textures the games still looked good.

But you have to remember that a PS1 game isn't going to have flawless graphics even though it's playing in a PS3 because it's still a PS1 game so there will be some a little bit of jagged shapes in the game.

PS2 games look about the same as if they were playing in a PS2 to me.
