my inlaws are the ones who have the puppies and the mom. we also know the father of the puppies. we will be getting him a few weeks after Christmas and we are already getting to know him so it won't be such a traumatic change for him to leave their house.

I allways wanted to name a puppy Kitty. When you say here Kitty Kitty, a puppy would come to you. I don't know, just a thought.

I think when you buy a pup, you've gotta give it a day or two to see what his personality is like before you can name him! But you could also go by things you like. We have a dog named Zimmy, after Robert Zimmerman (Bob Dylan). We also have another one named Kinzie, though I can't remember why. Best of luck, though. Give it a day or two. See what his personality's like.

As an aside, let me just put in my 2 cents. Please, make sure you're able to take care of a pup before you buy one. Many, many new animals are bought during the holiday season and 2 months later are in shelters and euthanized because people "didn't know what they were getting into." Furthermore, please, oh please, do not buy your pup from a pet store unless you can ascertain his origins. Pet stores frequently obtain their animals from puppy mills, which is just horrific (and cruel, and disgusting, and inhumane), and they'll lie to your face to get you to buy a pup. Better to go with a private breeder or a *very* reputable pet store. Contact the breeder, always. Sorry if you know all this all ready... just felt I had to say it!!! If you all ready knew, great! Pass on the knowledge!

I like names that start with a z for little dogs. You did not say if it was a female or a male. For a male, how about Zoe or Zadie for a girl. Zip for a boy Zilda for a girl. Zoro for a boy or Zara for a girl.
