I was 5, a 7 year old told me I would die some day. What did you think, how did you react?

it was when my baby sister died at the age of nine months i was 12 at the time. now dont get me wrong i new that i would die someday but i really truly didnt understand what it ment. I guess i didnt realize how final it was. but when a life is taken at such a young age it hits you like yeah i'm not that far behind her.

Around 8 - my great grandmother passed while I was sitting on her lap and we visiting relatives. She had tried to prepare me by talking about what to do if she should die while I was with her - but it became real when it happened.
I remember being scared and confused - now I try to accept that death is the most natural thing to happen - there is a start and then there is the middle, and finally an end. It is what I choose to do during the middle that counts .

JK. Actually, I have no memory of becoming aware that I'm mortal. I do remember thinking that you could die from swallowing gum when I was like 3 or 4 so I must have been aware of it by then.

I wasn't a specific age when I realized that I would die one day. It had always been in my mind somehow when I was very small, but I didn't understand death for a long time. I still don't understand death even now.

I can remember back from when I was younger than two, and I don't remember ever thinking that I WOULDN'T die.
