See, you could in no way question the legitimacy of an age-previous doctrine that has been the middle of maximum of historic events. particular, the Bible is written via a guy. yet, how in the worldwide might he be attentive to approximately God, if he did not come into touch via extra advantageous-uncomplicated skill? mind's eye could properly be strange, strange, out of the field. yet something so authentic and achievable and everlasting or perhaps an identical everywhere worldwide, won't be able to be fake. particular, the account has replaced, because of the fact a lot of human beings needed human beings to have self belief each and all the 'good truths' and erased all different truths that could desire to do harm to the religion. yet that would not advise that the Bible itself is misguided. you're taking the Bible, meditate and pray to the Lord to furnish you the respond which you seek for- the meaning of the e book, and not basically study the e book and are available on your conclusions and have self belief what all lies human beings have written over the a while, then you definately will income advantages from the Bible.

The oldest parts of the Bible were written in 1513 B.C.E. and the last books of the Bible were completed c. 100 C.E., about 60 years after Jesus died.

The Bible is divided often into two parts: the Hebrew Scriptures (or "Old Testament) and the Greek Scriptures (or "New Testament). The Hebrew Scriptures, the oldest part of the Bible, contains God's dealings with the Jews. It also contains many prophecies concerning the coming of the Messiah, or Christ. It foretells where he would be born and what he would accomplish. The Greek Scriptures focus on the ministry of Jesus, his teachings, and the beginnings of the Christian congregation.

It depends on the Christian surely? As in philosophy the thinking that went before has led to where we are now. Ergo in any religion that grows out of a culture, like christianity, the past is significant and part of the present. However, where I do agree is when 'Christians' who do not really subscribe to the peace and love philosophy that Christ preached then use the Old Testament to 'prove' their case. In that sense Christ was a new beginning, a departure from the stark 'hellfire and damnation' that went before. Surely that is the point?

It is a collection of many books written over a long spread of time. That is part of what makes the Bible so amazing since when you read all of it together, it connects into a meaningfull whole. Euphonie had it right except for the part about the council choosing the books in the Bible; this is a myth.

Nothing. That's pretty close to the truth.

The Old Testament was completed in about the 5th century B.C., and started around 2000 B.C.

The New Testament was completed by about 95 A.D., and started around 50 A.D.

Well, it's sort of true. The oldest parts of the OT were penned in the 8th century BCE, and the oldest parts of the NT were penned ~ unknown, but usually dated to be about 50 CE.

Personally, I don't think anything in the NT is earlier than 70 CE.
